A Dingle local got quite the surprise when a puffin turned up on her doorstep. Thankfully, our own Roslyn was there to help and spoke to Radio Kerry about it.

Encounters like this remind us just how special Dingle’s wildlife is and why we’re so proud to share it with our visitors every day. It’s also a reminder that we need to care for our wildlife as they sometimes need a little steer in the right direction! – Jamie Flannery
It’s not every day a puffin comes knocking. One Dingle resident opened her back door to find a feathered visitor waiting outside. Usually, puffins stay in colonies on the offshore islands, but this little traveller may have been thrown off course by the fog.
It turned out to be a lucky day for this puffin and for anyone who loves a good story. Elizabeth’s daughter, Amelia, works at Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium and her sister is our very own Roslyn. Together with Catherine Merrigan from the Office of Public Works, they helped guide the puffin safely on its way.
